MAINZ Award 2014

 

Dr. Markus Bannwarth

Markus Bannwarth receives the MAINZ Award 2014 for his thesis on “Smart Magnetic Dispersions – From Switchable Release to Well-Defined Hybrid Nanofibers”. Michael studied chemistry at JGU and was member of the graduate school in the group of Katharina Landfester at MPI-P from 2011 until 2014. During his membership, he did secondments staying with Cesar Petzold (Universidade Federal Do Rio Grande Do Sul Porto Alegre, Brasil) and with David Weitz (Harvard University, USA). Moreover, he was MAINZ PhD Representative from November 2012 until October 2013. Michael worked at EMPA (Eidgenössische Materialprüfungs- und Forschungsanstalt) in St. Gallen, Switzerland, from 2014 to 2015 and recently returned to MPI-P as group leader.

Dr. Isabel Schick

Isabel Schick is awarded with the MAINZ Award 2014 for her thesis entitled “Design of Multifunctional Janus Particles for Biomedical Applications”. Isabel studied chemistry at JGU and University of Toronto. She was member of the graduate school in the group of Wolfgang Tremel from 2012 to 2014. Isabel received a fellowship from Fonds der Chemischen Industrie supporting her doctoral thesis from 2012 until 2014. Following her dissertation, she joined Boston Consulting Group in Frankfurt where she works as Junior Consultant.
