27.08.-31.08.2010: MAINZ-SpinAps Summer School SpinAge 2010 "Emerging Materials for Spintronics"

This summer school is a collaboration of MAINZ, IBM and Stanford University.

The workshop focussed on novel materials, especially topological insulators, and exotic oxides, as well as other spin current related topics. We were very pleased that an excellent cast of world leading experts had accepted our invitation to discuss the latest developments in these fields. Please see the attached poster for the names of the invited speakers who participated.

The first day of the meeting was devoted to tutorials concerning the topics of the workshop to allow all interested to better comprehend the workshop talks. Students and postdocs were encouraged to participate, and, especially invited to present posters on their recent work.

The workshop took place at the Pajaro Dunes Conference Center in Watsonville California, located on the Monterey Bay coastline.
